Exciting New Web Features Developed
for Maine Tourism Go Live on VisitMaine.com

PORTLAND, ME (February 12, 2008) — Swardlick Marketing Group was selected by Portland Web Works, the internet consulting and development firm that creates and manages the Maine Office of Tourism’s official web site, VisitMaine.com, to assist in the creation of rich media content and a new set of features for VisitMaine.com. The new features are intended to provide greater depth of information on selected subject areas that relate to Maine’s attraction as a vacation destination. Ultimately, the goal is to create an enhanced user experience through the effective presentation of new, interesting and engaging web site content.

Rich media content was developed for such featured subjects as Maine’s lighthouses, Maine cuisine, and fishing in Maine. Swardlick Marketing Group’s work included planning, research, concept development, writing and producing the elements of the features, which ranged from custom-produced videos to interpretive audio segments with actors reading portions of lighthouse keepers’ journals. Portland Web Works completed the final development process, including interface design and programming.

Swardlick Marketing Group and Portland Web Works routinely collaborate on projects for various companies and organizations. Portland Web Works President, Justin Davis stated, “In a case like this when it makes sense to sub-contract content development, we need to work with someone we can rely on — and we know that Swardlick Marketing Group will always do a great job for us.”

Swardlick Marketing Group has a long history of involvement with and support of Maine’s Tourism Industry, as well as the Maine economy as a whole, having originated such memorable campaigns as “Maine — The Way Life Should Be” and “Maine Made — America’s Best”

The new web features can be seen by going to the Maine Office of Tourism’s Web site and visiting the lighthouses, cuisine and fishing pages.
