Swardlick Marketing Group Adds
Managing Director
PORTLAND, ME (May 8, 2006) — Swardlick Marketing Group, a full-service marketing and communications agency, has named Cathleen Toomey as Managing Director of the agency’s growing higher education practice, which includes clients Bentley College, the University of Maine System and the Mitchell Institute.
Toomey brings more than 20 years of strategic marketing and brand building expertise to Swardlick, having held leadership positions within higher education as well as consumer products companies. She was Executive Director of Marketing at Babson College, where she launched the college’s first television ad campaign and managed institutional branding efforts. At the University of New Hampshire, Toomey led the multi-year Centennial celebration and outreach effort for the college, garnering increased funding for the land grant institution.
Most recently, Toomey served as Vice President of Communications at Stonyfield Farm, the third-largest yogurt brand in the U.S, where she achieved record levels of national media coverage for the fast-growing organic brand. She developed similar programs while at Timberland and Clarks Shoes. Toomey’s agency experience was gained at two Boston-based firms; Cone Communications and Cosmopulous, Crowley & Daly. She is a graduate of Fairfield University (B.A.) and Fordham University (M.A.).
